What To Do While Social Distancing: With Links!

If you’re like me, the idea of working from home sounds great! I’m a homebody by nature and have no problem being at home for days on end. If not, you may be getting a bit of cabin fever…

Fear not! While we are in the middle of an international health crisis, there is still lots of good in the world. People are going out of their way to do what they can to help others, and in a time like this that’s just what we need. Many online activity and entertainment options have been made available for those of us practicing social distancing, effectively bringing the outside world to us! And the best part? Most of them are FREE!

Virtual Museums & Aquariums

Many Zoos, Aquariums, and Museums around the world have closed their doors for safety reasons, but have chosen to turn on the cameras for our benefit! Here is a brief list, but I’m sure there are others out there!

Virtual Concerts

Many musical act have taken to social media as their most readily available medium for doing what they do best; performing!

If you’re a Country Music fan you don’t want to miss the Diesel Bird festival happening this weekend (March 28/29th)! Acts from amazing Canadian Country artists such as Dallas Smith, James Barker Band, Jess Moskaluke, Terri Clark, and a lot more! Link here.

If Country isn’t your cup of tea, here is a list of online musical acts that is being frequently updated by Billboard.com!

Newly Released Movies

Had to cancel plans to go see a new movie you were really excited to see? Several movies that were destined for the silver screen are being made available to stream instead! More info here.

Online Fitness Classes

Noticing that you’re eating everything in sight out of boredom? Ya me neither…

There’s an answer for that too! Why not take this opportunity to start some healthier habits?

Many fitness studios right here in Calgary have been streaming online fitness classes that you can do in your own living room! You can find out which studios are offering classes here, but I’m sure more will start doing this as time goes on.

Stay safe!
